FAQs from our Customers

What is the size of the Frame?

There are two options for Air Frames: the 'Air Frame Regular' is 2.4m high and the 'Air Frame Large' is 3.5m high. Both options include conversion kits to switch between Regular and Large.

Will it fit in my house?

Yes, the Air Frame Regular is ideal for home use as it can be set up in a standard UK room with a height of 2.4m. It has a 3.1 x 3.1m footprint.

Due to its lightweight design and easy setup, it's a must-have for any Pilates studio or for aerialists at home.

What floor space does the Frame take up?

Air Frame Regular’ has a 3.1 x 3.1m footprint, and the ‘Air Frame Large’ has a 4.4 x 4.4m footprint. The Air Frame Regular weighs 25kg, and the Air Frame Large weighs 33kg.

What weight does it hold?

The Air Frame is designed for use by one person only, with a maximum weight capacity of 160kg. The Working Load Limit (WLL) is also 160kg.

Can I put it up outside?

Yes, the Air Frame is ideal for outdoor use and easy to transport and assemble for training. Please note that the Air Frame should not be permanently assembled outside.

How easy is it to put up? How many people does it take to put up?

It is recommended to have 2 or more people complete the assembly for ease, although it can be assembled by one person. Care should be taken when lifting components or during the assembly process.

Can I travel with it? Will it fit in my car?

Yes, it fits in a standard-size car. We managed to fit it into the passenger side of a mini! The specially designed bags have compartments made specifically to hold all the parts safely and transport with ease.

I have lost or damaged a part, what do I do?

The Air Frame comes with 4 spare pins and split rings. If you need extra parts, you can purchase spares for each part. It's important not to use the Air Frame without a part or if any part is not working properly.

What’s the lifespan of the Frame? How long will it last?

The maximum lifespan of the Air Frame is 20 years, subject to inspection. If any part of the frame becomes damaged or worn, then it must not be used and/or, could reduce the lifespan of the product. Please contact your supplier to request availability or suitability of replacement parts

Technical Questions: Answers from our product experts

Q: What happens if I get my Air Frame wet?

A: The wooden sections of the Air Frame are vulnerable to moisture. The mechanical properties of wood can be changed by getting it wet, over time it will deteriorate. You must try to avoid getting the Air Frame wet at all, if it does get wet then ensure it is completely dry before putting it away. When drying, use a towel to remove as much surface water as possible. Leave the affected components in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources or sunshine. Thorough drying will be best achieved with the Air Frame diss-assembled. Carefully inspect each part for any signs of damage or deterioration before you use it again. If in doubt, don’t use it.

Q: How much space do I need to be able to put up an Air Frame?

A: The Air Frame Regular has a footprint of 3.1m X 3.1m and is 2.4m high.

The Air Frame Large has a footprint of 4.5m x 4.5m and is 3.5m high.

You must allow enough space around the Air Frame to assemble and use it.

Q: Can 2 people of 80KG or less use the Air Frame at the same time?

A: No, the Air Frame is only designed for use by one person. The potential dynamic movement caused by two people using the Air Frame at the same time, has a risk of putting loads through the Air Frame that it is not designed to withstand. The Air Frame is designed to be loaded centrally, evenly distributing the load between each leg. This is much less likely with two users, not to mention the increased risk of colliding with one of the legs.

Q: Can I rig my equipment with a sling or strop directly around the top bar of the Air Frame?

A: No, the Air Frame must only be rigged to via the D Shackles on the Top Bar. They are the only attachment point on the Air Frame which is rated for use by the manufacturer. The three D shackles are positioned to ensure that the load is evenly distributed through each leg of the Air Frame. Rigging from anywhere else can cause an uneven load distribution and potentially damage the Air Frame.

Q: Can I use a pully system with the Air Frame?

A: No, you can only rig equipment directly from the D Shackles. The use of pulleys or more complex load-bearing systems is not allowed with the Air Frame. The load must remain within the footprint of the Air Frame and be evenly distributed between each leg. This is only reliably achieved by rigging directly from the D Shackles.

Q: Can I buy extra leg sections to make my Air Frame taller?

A: The Air Frame is available in two sizes, regular (2.4m high) and Large (3.5m high). Conversion kits are available to convert your Air Frame from one size to the other.

Additional modifications to make the Air Frame taller are not allowed and carry a serious risk of damaging the Air Frame with a high potential for injury or death.

Q: How tight should the stabilisation cables be?

A: They do not need to be ‘tight’, just done up enough to have no slack in them.

The stabilisation cables are there to support the Top Bar of the Air Frame, while they must always be used, they do not directly hold any load. The bars on the adjustment barrel of the Rigging Screws are deliberately short to prevent over-tightening. The most important thing is that all 4 stabilisation cables feel about the same tightness as each other. If you press against one of the cables you should be able to deflect it by a few centimetres by hand. Once done up, all of the cables should deflect about the same amount when pressed with about the same force.

Q: I have lost or damaged a part, what do I do?

A: There are 4 spare pins and split rings included with your Air Frame. If you need any additional parts then spares of each part are available to buy. Never use the Air Frame without a part or if any part is not functioning correctly.

Q: Some Leg / Foot Sections feel or look different than the others, is this ok?

A: The wooden components of the Air Frame are made from a natural material. As such no two parts will ever be the same. Small differences in colour, weight and appearance are completely normal. If you think that something has changed then inspect it very carefully for any signs of deterioration. If in doubt, do not use it.

Q: Can I use my Air Frame on the beach?

A: It’s not a good idea! Beaches have a lot of potential hazards to the lifespan of your Air Frame. The sand is likely to get into the joints and threads of the Air Frame. This could prevent it from being assembled correctly or cause premature wear on the parts. The salty environment carries a high risk of causing corrosion on the metal parts of the Air Frame, even the stainless steel parts are at risk of this. Great care must be taken to ensure that the Air Frame is always set up on stable solid ground that can support the weight of the feet of the frame. Sand is not an ideal surface for this.

Q: What is the guarantee?

A. The Air Frame is guaranteed for 3 years from the date of purchase. This guarantee covers defects in materials or workmanship but does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse or accidental damage

Q:  Do I need to inspect the Air Frame?

Yes, before each use carefully inspect the whole frame in good light. Pay particular attention to the wooden sections, look out for any cracks, splits, elongation of holes, signs of rot and infestations of animal or plant life. Look for wear/damage around pins and holes.

More than 10% wear on any hole or pin is considered to be worn out. Any sharp edges may be carefully removed with a fine file but, consider how they have come to be there and check that further damage has not occurred.  If in doubt, do not use it.

Q: Can you use it for Aerial training - silks/hoop/trapeze/rope ?

Any compatible equipment can be used if rigged correctly.  For single-point equipment, must be rigged from the middle point.  See instructions for clear details on rigging your equipment.
